I ofc agree that if you cannot lift the damn thing one handed you cannot ambi it. Although seeing Calvin dual wielding napoleonic cannons would be one not to miss _________________ Chief Technician Jessica Parker

i think it should as the rules currently state be restricted to only one handed things.. ie pistols etc.. however the heroic coolness of having two smg's is very nice and might make someone weekend by making them feel like a true hero. so i like the ideas of a feat to allow one handed use of smg's (not so sure about carbines) or allowing bodybuilders to dual weild smg's expert body builders to dual weild carbines and shotguns as well.
both i think give the bodybuilder feet more coolness and realism and make a gun bunnys weekend. so long as it doesnt start to get overused :/

Okay, I know realism isn't our main priority, but we have to give a nod towards it at least.
The problem with using firearms in one hand is recoil: it kills your accuracy. Since the combat system has no accuracy concept per se, we have to achieve a similar effect by simply ruling out some things.
In this case, I think anything other than a pistol is probably out of the question. While SMG's are only firing pistol ammo, they are firing a lot of it. Rifles and shotguns, well the kick on those is pretty fearsome even when you do it properly. Lighter weapons don't help much in this regard as a lighter weapon will actually kick more (it's why some sniper rifles have very heavily weighted stocks to damp recoil).
All that being said, it is a heroic idea and so one worthy of discussion. Consider it on the agenda for a System Lord meeting.
