re downtimes. I would like to see some way for people not making events able to stay in touch. As well as the lack of response on some dt questions one of the reasons i drifted away was it felt there was no way I could stay in touch with the game if i was not making them. |
Yes, I agree - but since that's my responsibility now - that won't be an issues on the lack of responses.
| Quote: | I don't think characters should progress in the same way if they don't make games but it would be nice if they could do bits and pieces so at least you feel you can continue to interact on the boards.
Getting asked to do research for example and not being able to do it as not able to make a game means people stop talking to you and asking you to do it.
I like to see how downtime is broken down now and think certain things characters should still be able to do.
This could be dependant on being a member for example though (at this point in time I don't see much point in joining other than to try and shout please run a game I can make) On the other hand if being a member meant you could do research downtime and use skills like dreaming spires then this would allow characters to stay engaged and then they can feed that info in report into games. I would also have the proviso from the refs that if you do research and can not make a game they are free to pass on results in game if it is important for the plot of the game. |
The other reason to be a member is actually you need to be a member to play as far as I am aware (Woody may be able to clarify this one). As for your comments over the research and passing it on with the plot of the game, that's also the responsibility of one person (i.e. myself at the moment) to maintain consistency between events.
| Quote: | I hope that makes sense. It is sort of being able to keep your character involved while not really benefiting but still obviously existing as a character in the game.
to add one other things I also think the refs should be free to move pc's around out of positions of responsibility as I have had that in other systems and it stinks that something stagnates due to an old characters stopping other moving on. Polite to talk to the player of that character but refs have to be happy to do what is best for the game. |
I have done that and do continue to do that

Updated the rules to 4.0 Revision 02
4.0 Revisions
Rev 01 : Changed “Well Balanced” to reference “Cat Like Reflexes” rather than Bullet Catcher.
Rev 02 : Added Doctor Specialities (Medicine section); Bio-Engineering , Catering (Veteran Skill section), Added Basic Computers / Basic Engineering card game description.
This should clarify the issues around Bio-Engineering and the Doctor Specialities _________________

Any change of having the rules in a more printer or pda friendly format, I.e. a more text and less graphics heavy document (.rtf, .doc, or .txt ) please? I'd like to consult the rules at the event and the current pdf is really slow to navigate and read on my ageing palm (not to mention the amount of ink used to print it out). The current pdf does look very nice on my computer screen however _________________ Dr Jason Andrews

It's in hexadecimal
Very busy playing with a large hadron collider looking for..., well, hadrons I suppose. |

I think there are only three graphics in the entire document - the front cover and the two skill cards.
After I've done the downtimes I can produce a PDA version though _________________

Thanks for that. Must be the pdf format itself that causes my pda to have a heart attack everytime I load it up. _________________ Dr Jason Andrews

It's a palm tungsten e2. I've adobe reader installed as well as palm pdf (an open source reader). _________________ Dr Jason Andrews
