WTH is MOLLE and how does it work?

Yeah, I admit it, half this stuff means jack shit to me.

I'm looking to pick up a medic pouch, but all the ones I can find that look useful are MOLLE, and I know for a fact that I don't have a MOLLE system.
Ijust want a pouch that will nicely and tidily store medic stuff without me having to rummage, and that will fit on my belt (or on a drop leg rig)

So, will these Molle pouches fit on a regular / security duty belt?

Thanks
Richard Tyler

yes they should
they will probably have multiple straps on the back rather than one thick loop but should still work.

Brilliant.
Thanks mate.

To find out what MOLLE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOLLE_(military)

It turns out the system in question is actually called PALS (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pouch_Attachment_Ladder_System), but since it was first used on the MOLLE system, the names for all of it kinda merged...

It's funny how that happens. The US Army camo is actually called ARPAT (All Region Pattern), but everyone calls is ACU, which is actually the name of the uniform design (Advanced Combat Uniform).

It's probably very sad that we're having this conversation Smile.

Why?

And the PAL's gear is also known by some, Many or few as: MLCE(Modular Load Bearing Equipment) and MLCE(Modular Load Carry Equipment)

Generally, It depends what pouches you want rob, you might be better getting belt pouches, as they have been known to fall off non MOLLE belts, or if you allready have the pouches, tie wraps.
