Why do Jaffa regenerate? This comes from the sniper thread.
They have immature symbiots in them which replace their immune system so making them more resistant to disease and longer lived and possibly tougher . I do not see how this allows them to regenerate body hits while on the ground?
Jaffa are the mooks of the game. Imho they shouldn't even have vitality unless they are 'named' (spot the feng shui rpg references) i.e Prime's or similar.

you are quite right. Not even Goa'uld can regenerate wounds in the show without the use of a sarchophogus. If there is anything about them regen'ing hits, bin it

i agree Jaffa are mooks, as it is the normal Jaffa has as much vitality as a Player and More body, and a regenerate.
now with small crew numbers i can see where this is useful, but surely pulling them back to come in as a second wave of "weaker" Jaffa would be better than having a crew member lying down counting to 60.

As far as I am aware its a case of how much initial damage they have taken. I cant remember the episodes its in but Im sure there is reference made to them standing up after the battle.

I always assumed they were pure body creatures with armour (and I wasn't sure the armour actually did anything )
Jaffa have their healing trance they go into but even that doesn't regenerate them back from -4

Yes, we were certainly told Jaffa Regenerate at the last event when the players were playing the Jaffa on the ship.

i've had it happen as well at a prevous event.
At event 5 at Barnswood I left a jaffa for dead out the back of the hut sneaked off and came back to find he had got to his feet again so either he played dead or regened.
It is not something they in general do but it is something I have known them to do and was briefed could do when we were the jaffa on the ship.

Agreed - no reason for Jaffa to regenerate, they're mooks. Ifyou want them to be tough give them feats or more skills, UAC, Melee and feats etc.
Afterall they're trained for one thing - fighting.
I thought that Goa'uld did regen at the same rate as Jaffa.
I can understand a Goa'uld regenerating, but perhaps at a slower rate without the use of the sarcophagus.

They can certinaly heal fatal illnesses.. and I think they can regen wounds too. Think about what the Tok'ra do as you see it more there. They dont' use sarcphogus at all so all healing is done by the symbiote. Will have to look it up but apart from what's he face.. Sam's dad.. who becomes a Tok'Ra becouse he is dieing I rememebr at leats one scene where a Tok'Ra is hurt and refuses medical aid becouse the symbiot will heal them given a short time to rest.

It just takes longer than 60 sec.

I dont' disagree with that. i said it was rather fast when told my stats,

I am not sure about the 60 seconds thing. In an LRP fight that is actually a long time and as mere humans we heal at 1 body per hour anyway so it is 60 times quicker than we heal (but humans don't heal on less than 0)
On the other hand it feels like it is very quick but you need to get the balance between game and tv show. Most fights I have had with Goa'uld they haven't had the 60 seconds to heal 1 body once they starting taking body they tend to drop pretty quick.

I suppose it should be on how much damage they have taken, like 60 sec at -1 , 2 min to get you from -2 to -1 and like -3 3 minutes, not sure -4 can be done in minutes, but maybe that just complicates things.

I never thought they could regen on -4 just at -3. Still it is rare that one of the mooks gets to regenerate, normally the crew member will go and use a respawn instead.
As for the vitality, they have one more than a normal person.
Generally they tend to die by the dozen from what I have seen, with the occasional and unfortunate PC death when the players have been overwhelmed.
