SMGs & sniper rifles

I think there is an imbalance between these two weapons. The 'special call for an SMG is triple with a magazine of 30 rounds. The call for a sniper rifle is also triple but with a 10 rd mag. The SMG uses 3 rds for it's triple call so you get 10x triple calls from either weapon.

As SMGs are in the low end of medium weapons & sniper rifles are heavies, surely the rifle should have more clout. In play the sheer impact of the rifles old 7 call is completely lost

While the new calls may be mathematically better than the old, & the old did need slight revision, I think that in play the effect of different weapons is now quite blurred.

I think Kehoe is the best person to answer this, but the power of the sniper rifle isn't in the actual base damage - it comes from it being the only weapon that can use Marksman/SniperShot call.

I'd agree that it really comes into it's own with the marksman/snipershot calls but considering it's up there with heavy weapons where SMGs are down in medium I think the base call is underpowered. I'd like to see it call double through.

yes there is an imbalance between sniper rifles and smg's. that was intentional.
