I was going for http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/877/shopscr954.html
I need a few for ballasting the bottom of my light stands, laser grid stands etc, so I thought I might get enough for the ends of a couple of sangers. I was looking at your camo netting Rob & thinking the with a couple of trestles wrapped in pipe insulation under it, it could make temporary fortifications.

I'd go for the nylon ones. Hesian tends to rot and doesn't last long when exposed to the elements.

I just got a quote for some from a firm in Birmingham as follows
The white woven polypropylene sandbags 33 x 79cm with tie
10 for £13.00 (all prices include delivery and VAT)
50 for £26.44
100 for £36.43
200 for £49.35
for 10 it is far more expensive than the one's from the sites already mentioned but if we got 50 it works out at just over 50p a bag ( I am sure you can all do the maths)
I need a few I have decided for similar reasons to nigel so does anyone want to go in on getting 50 or so . Or a larger order? Let me know as I need some other stuff from them and will be ordering sometime this week.

I'd be happy with those prices, my only question mark would be the colour - somewhat unmilitary. They'd certainly do for ballast. I'd be willing to go for a larger quantity, as long as we can get someone to fill them

As long as she brings a shovel to fill 'em, I don't mind We can always cover them with camo net.

Tom, does your supplier do OG ones & at what price? I must admit I'd prefer sand or OG to white.

Part of the reason is Cat wants some for his vietnam re-enactment which is why we are looking at them. I have realised i could do with some for the forthcoming maelstrom event as well so it is worth going in on them.
Personally I don't want a 100. 10 or 20 would do me fine now if other people wanted them i would order more and then split it between us. If 10 people brought 10 to each event that would be plenty.
Also tbh I can't see us using them anywhere other than candlestone as there are few other sites where we will have material we can readily dig up to fill them with. On which case it may be worth checking with candeleston if they are happy to leave them there as then we could fill a load and leave them on site and simply move them each time. May have to renew them every now and then but that will depend alot on the site wardens at candeleston.

Storing a couple of hundred would be a pain but I looking at bulk buying cause my group will need about 200. I'm looking at get a quote for 200 and 300 so if I can get them cheeper I may have some spare some people can have 10 or 20....
We will see.....

I think I'm going with your OG ones Cat. I'll need ten or so just for ballasting stands, so I could well go for 20 or 30. See where the price breaks come on quantities.

Going to order some this week
I'm getting 100 for my group plus additional for myself and anyone else who wants some.
| Quote: | | Multiples of 100 poly sandbags will be £70 per hundred. 250 is discounted again and will be £162.50. |
So 65-70p each depending. Not as cheep as Toms supplier but mil-spec sand bags in OG.
