New piece of kit, advice welcome.Today, I made the mistake of going to army surplus to get some things for the event. That went fine, stuff was ordered and within budget.
However, I also ended up getting the mother of all medpacks, which, when opened, is taller than me!
It's apparently current 2008 issue (which is nice).
The label says -
PACK MEDICAL
BATTLEFIELD AMBULANCE DPM IRR
There are lots (I mean lots) of pouches in there, all with places for labels, and a separate compartment for tools or syringes, I'm not sure which. There are also alot of straps and buckles on the outside for carrying other stuff, I assume stretchers etc.
I hope to use this for the June event. I think I can make educated guesses as to what goes where, but if anyone has used one, or can offer proper advice as to pack it correctly (apart from the chocolate and mini bar) then I would be grateful.
Edit - found a link to one on the net for a piccie-

Nooo Nooo dont tell him, lol. As much as I love DPM there is only so much we can fit in the house, untill I get the elastic walls fitted ofc.
Although we could redo the dining room as a mini mess hall....*gets scary ideas*...where is this store again?
Erm...that didnt answer your question did it?

I've found it on various sites, and the information is very good on what it contains in terms of numbers of pockets etc, I actually have it at home so can see for myself (and squee a little) at the room in there.
However, that is not what I need the help on. The blessed thing when unwrapped in 6 feet tall, I kid you not, and is full of clear plastic pockets on the inside and on the outside there is lots of straps.
I have put it on and although it is unloaded at the moment, feels more comfortable than the green paramedic backpack I currently use.
What I need is advice from someone who has actually used these in the field, or have seen them in use. I need to know WHAT to put in which pocket, and what goes on the outside straps for the most efficient effect. I'm still spending far too much time looking for stuff in my kit, rather then treating the casualty so I hope to get everything in there to save faff.

well unfortunatly I dont know anyone who would be able to tell you exactly what is supposed to be in what pocket. but I would assume that you would put the things you expect you use te most in the more accessable pouches and everything else packed elsewear. sorry i cant be of much use. I would assume the lables are left blank so you can choose what items you would prefer to have in each area. whatever is most convienent and comfortable for you.

well I not sure but I think the pack you have is really designed to hang on a wall so that you can access the stuff in a field hospital / aid station.
as for content of he pockets I'll poke Derek he should have some ideas as its what he does on the side
