Natural imunity

OK...

Natural Imunity.

Triggered by the player when they want it ?

Triggered by the first things that should trigger it ?

Triggered by the ref ?
Doc Benton

id say trigerd by the fst thing that would triger it as it is your body saying no we dont like that and not you as its most thing like microbatiera doing it and unless you have bloody amasing eyes you cant see them.
Freeman

Makes sense to me.
I'd certainly be inclined to agree with that proposal.
Steven Daniels

It is triggered by the PLAYER saying they don’t want to be effected by ‘whatever..!’

There are no microbes, bacteria, antibodies, etc. involved. It is purely a game mechanic.

The CHARACTER does not even know they have an immunity to it, and there is NO WAY that a cure, vaccine or the like can be removed, extracted or created from a characters blood, antibodies, DNA, whatever.

The easiest way to describe it is some people catch colds a lot, while other don’t. However, everyone gets a cold, eventually. Sad

Was just looking at the trigger.

I can see agruments for all 3 triggers.

Event 5 - the last one by sam.
the only way to "cure" the spore fungus was to find someone who had played a natural immunity to it, and then produce a vaccine to the spores.

again its a example of trying to fit reality around a set of rules (or a set of rules around reality)

to use Daves example above the people who dont get colds alot have a more active immune system and therefore produce more anitbodies one of which may just affect (bind to ) an antigen present on that bacteria/virus.

Tamiflu (the flu Jab) is produced by monoclonal hybridoma (a human cancer cell is "mixed" with a lymphocyte that produces the H1 antibody) the original Lymphocyte came form a cell line of a person who had an immunity "naturally" to the virus. (but flu is a whole different kettle of fish, in some ways its more similar to a crystal than a living creature)

i would say that natural immunity should be offered to the players to use anytime something may trigger it. if the player dosent have it then BAM affected by the poison/disease. If they do they are fine, not affected. but it could also be offered to the payers each time they come back from an offworld mission (even if there is no disease/poison in their system) just to keep that edge of paranoia.

as far as producing vaccines its the one sure way in the rules, and yes it does involve the players trying to track down Patient 0 who isnt affected. one of the more fun parts of event 5 was trying to find people who had been exposed but hadnt gone brain spore crazy.

obviously chemicals and man-made bioweapons as well as some natural disorders should be immune to natural immunity, or merely delayed by it (requiring more than one natural immunity feat to be unaffected)

I agree with Harry (Alex) on this one.
