Infirmary/IC First Aid supplies

33 days to the event and I'm starting to look at actually equipping my doctor with some items useful to her profession.

What sort of first aid supplies are favoured/needed? Does anyone have any links to a good source of cheap supplies, or shall I carry on with my quest for the ultimate first aid kit with Extra Added Bandages?

Cheers

PM Doc benton, hes the medical kitmaster. Very Happy

i should be bringing a whole host of bottles for liquid drugs. the good thin with modern medicine is that bandages are used sparingly, mostly is invisible stitches.

more likely is triangular bandages as they can be used for support/packing and making temporary splints (with wood or pistol tops)

GSW (gunshot wounds) require a dressing, so some extra dressings are a good idea. and a bog box to keep everything in (a personal bag for yourself)

and any "scientific" looking kit to support your background skills.

I'll bring the electronic microscope & laptop again, and the EEG/ECG box.

Cool, ta for the general idea, largely it was all I needed rather than an itemised list. I'll remember to pack my white coat and fingers crossed I'll be able to get hold of some operating scrubs. Smile

How big? What sort of vehicle do you need to transport it?

There is:
2 stretchers
2 stretcher tressles (puts a stretcher at waist hieght)
Medical locker 3'x2'x1' (fully stocked)
2 cots with bedding
A couple of medical bags

Every thing would go into the boot of a car bar the stretcher 'cause there 8 foot long....

Stretchers:
are they the old style (1950s) solid rod type or the (1960's) Lockable split pole design

i know we have a couple of the German Man carry all fabric stretcher. and i may be able to blag a folding stretcher for the weekend, and possibly a "little annie" or Resusie annie" [i will make Paramedics and First aiders practice CPR Buahahahahahahaha] (will get back to folks on this one).
