Crash course - Medic?

Simple enough question really, to use a crash course you can only do it on a skill in a category you already possess. Now considering that Medic is the first skill on the medicine path id assume you cant crash course to help you learn it in downtime, would I be correct?
Fenric

Nope, that's correct - it has to be in a category that you already have things in... since you need a baseline to work from.. but a medic could increase to paramedic.
Tempest

Thought so, thanks for the confirmation.
Earthbinder

could you then:- Blow an onld college professor to learn (albeit temporarily) the first skill in a category you do not posses to then crash course another skill in that category.
Fenric

That would pretty much be against the sprit of the rules, since you don't actually have the skill, you've just learnt the skill temporarily - and since it's temporary, it would be a rather crap flange to allow that - since you'd be going from nothing to a high level skill in one go.

just playing mind games with the interactions of the non-combat feats
and the skills system.

Don't look too closely, you'll see the man behind the curtain Smile
