I have a pair of these boots. I would like to look after them a bit but Oakley are very reticent with the information about how best to care for them. I wear them every day and I'm not cleaning them that often, but I could do a thorough job every month or so. Can anyone advise on the best way to clean them so as to preserve them and not cause damage?

Not sure here as the combination of materials makes it a little more difficult, but maybe your local camping shop may be able to advise.

On a side note, thanks for the link I've now bought the Magnum Storm II WP Womens BB111 for £30, nice. Need to stop doing that.

Most mud will dry brush off, so let them dry naturally, stand them in an airy place away from direct heat. Stuff them tightly with newspaper while they're drying to keep their shape. Brush them with a stiff nylon brush. Any mud left on the leather can be wiped off with a wrung out wet rag. The fabric/mesh bits can be cleaned with a much softer brush (old tooth brush gets into all the edges where everything is stitched together) & warm water. If you need anything stronger use a little mild soap (baby soap) & rinse off well. Don't use detergents, they can strip off waterproofing. Soften the leather with a little leather dressing worked well in. Traditional ones are dubbin or neatsfoot oil but they can rot stitching. There are more modern ones but offhand I don't know any brand names.
