I believe it's 300 rounds. Though from what I can gather, in any kind of "hot" situation it's as much as you can carry. Mali might be the best person to ask.

from my time we carried 300 in magazines and up to another 300 in stripper clips.
carring more than 10 magazines is a real pain in the arse, you yusually end up put the extra in a back pack, where they clank round and getting at them in a fire fight means dropping the pack then using two hand to get at them
not what you want to do while being shot at

Can anyone supply approx dimensions we use for
Pistol Mags
MP5 mags
MP4 mags
556 ammo mags
Sniper ammo mags (L96)
I`m looking to make a few for the team (I don`t like having to blag physreps off people)

we already have phys reps for that ammo,
you draw them from the armoury during the game, its done like this to prevent poeple running round with an amount of ammo a battalion would use on one person.
on another note I dont think there is weapon known as an MP4, do you mean M4 carbine?

standerd op kit (as of 4/5 5 years back) is
8 mags 5.56 (6 for you 2 for the lsw gunger (now minime)
2 he greanade
2 smoke
2 morter bombs for a 51mm morter (or 2" onle ones)
2 rifle granades (now repleaced with a nice 40mm granade luancer under sling to the lsw.
a slack hand full of tracer rounds (you do have wver get 2 for every 10 in your mags so 8"ball" rounds and 2 tracers)
and 200 7.62 box for the gpmg
1 bandonler of 150 rounds on "clips" and a mag charger
so all in all 5.56 you would have the avrage of 400 rd
thats each man
on top of that you would al so have law94 (heat) for the squad and than can be aney number at best 1 each(and its fun tring to fire yours 1st so you dont have to keep carying the blody thing) to 1 pere fire team (4 men)
thats as the book the realaty of it is you get aney thing and every thing you can get your hands on!!!

The wood physreps in the ammo box are basically society property so you aren't blagging off anyone mate

Official ammo scales for an infantry soldier is
6 magazines (30 rds in each)
300 rds in 2 bandoliers
This however will be considerably different on recent Ops.
My advice would be to carry as MUCH AS POSSIBLE especially if you know you are going to be contacted.
My webbing is set up as follows:
2 x ammo pouches (can carry 12 mags of 30 rds each)
3 x utility pouches that would be broken up as follows.
200 rds of link
grenades
water
Weight Approx 12-15 kg
That said it all depends on the situation you are in. When i was in Iraq and doing road moves in the red zone i had about 4 mags on me but had a grabbag which contained another 8 mags, 4 he grenades and 2 phos.
