Ammunition for Crew?

It wasn't mentioned when we ran 'Double Edged Sword', but it has now occurred to me that whilst zat and staff weapons have ammunition capacities (as do other alien technologies) we don't seem to limit crew with the burden of ammunition.
Do crew with such weapons have a limitless supply, or are they as limited us?
If limited, are they expected to tell us how much ammo is left in their Zat / staff weapon when we loot it from their bloody corpse?

I don't think we want players to be able to take X staff/zat clips off each killed Jaffa for instance. I think the game would be poorer for it. Plus lets be honest. When do you ever see them reload.

Up to now the ref makes the call when a body is looted which is nice and straightforward. Plus if corpses are to be made lootable for ammo all the time its harder to respawn your crew in endless waves of Freeman slaughtering death Wink
