What we use at DH for calls for a Real first aider is "Player Down".
That then allows us to use 'Man down' as an IC call...

man down was what we were told in the ooc brief this time but player down is better (and you can always use one followed by the other)

As first aiders aren't usually the ones to hear the call go out in the first place, we rely on the players knowing which call is which. So as long as someone tells a ref to get on the radio or comes running for the resident first aider, Player Down gets my vote too.

All the other (pathetically few) LRP systems I have played in use MAN DOWN as the OOC call for medical help.
The general rules about man down usually are
1. No one echoes Man Down unless absolutely necessary because that can lead to confusion.
2. Everyone drops to the ground so that the person waving frantically for assistance can be easily seen.

"Man Down" is the usual call at the (very few) other systems I've been too as well, but I think in the context of Stargate "Player Down" works better as it allows us to use "Man Down" IC, which is, let's face it, a lot of fun (unless it's me).

Good point. I had a 'Man Down' over the weekend and originally didn't catch it as i thought it was just player role-play, twasn't until it became 'Ref We Have A Man Down' that i caught it and Timed Out whilst i checked it out.

player down is a good call rob as stated above you can not miss under stand that one at all
how ever most systom use man down (orthow it may be seen as sexis the way the world is heading with all this pc shit rofl)
its up to the pep runing and as it has and always will be explaned at the start of each game at very good event:)
but i like the player down good call rob

I'd just put it down that most systems are doing it wrong then...

Player down gets my vote. No chance of misunderstanding, where as mandown is a common call often heard in war movies and since this game is heavy on army types then....

I have to say currnetly first aiding in at least 3 systems man down is whats uesd. If we start changing it my very few functioning after only a few hours sleep brain cells will get baffled. I vote to stay on man down which is used in quiet a few other scifi/military based games.
Please stick with something I know how to recognise and can regognise even in my sleep.
