Hello All.
As Dave Little has resigned his position as System Ref due to ill health, in accordance with the constitution nominations are now open for the position of System Ref. Here are the relevant parts of the constitution.
"The System Referees (numbering three) shall:
Assist the Plot Co-ordinator in their duties
Be responsible for maintaining a current copy of the LRP system rules
Be responsible for developing the rules
Provide final adjudication on the interpretation and application of the Stargate LRP system rules
Provide final adjudication on any rules and conditions established under which role-play on the society s website or message board are allowed to take place
Offer appropriate support and guidance to Society members acting as event referees
A final decision on any rules clarifications shall be decided upon by a vote of the three System Referees.
Attend general meetings of the society."
"In the event of resignation, failure to elect, vote of no confidence or permanent absence from the executive committee for any other reason, an election for the officer post in question must take place:
i) either at a general meeting of the society which takes place not more than ten weeks later;
ii) or by a postal / electronic ballot of all the membership which takes place not more than ten weeks later.
When an election is to take place for any officer post, society members will be informed of the procedure for nomination as a candidate at least 2 weeks before nominations close. A candidate must be nominated and seconded by two members of the society, neither of which may be the nominee. The nominee must agree to the nomination.
There will be at least two weeks between nominations closing and ballots being cast in order to allow candidates to explain their platform.
When a ballot is to take place for any officer post, society members will be informed of the date and format of the at least 2 weeks before the ballot takes place."
So I realise I'm cutting it short, but nominations are now open.
Nominations need to be sent to stargate_lrp ( at )hotmail.co.uk by FRIDAY THE 5TH JUNE 2009. I will need the following information -
Name and email address of the nominee.
Name and email address of the proposer.
Name and email address of the seconder.
This is so I can verify the nomination etc.
Please note that as Returning Officer I will not be nominating or seconding anyone, so please don't ask!
The nominations will then be announced on the Saturday 6th June 2009.
From that point each nominee will be given a thread for questions and answers up to the event. There will be a General Meeting after time out on the Sunday where the election will take place. Those members unable to attend the event will be able to vote electronically (ie by email) but they must be received at the stargate_lrp (at) hotmail.co.uk address by Midnight Thursday the 18th June so I can collate the votes before going to the event on the Friday morning.
This will also be emailed to members, and put on the Facebook group.

Over the last week I have received two applications for the position of System Ref, to be decided by vote after the next event. They are -
Tony Kehoe
Ross Smith
As before a thread will be opened for each candidate to answer questions.
