Hi All,
This is a quick note as I'm away and have stolen a friends PC.
I have been in contact with Sam and she will not sanction this event.
She does however have no issue with it being a player run event.
(basically she doesn't want to p!$$ off the people who normally support her and are running another event at the same time - which I understand and sort of agree with, but there will always be some event that will clash with another).
Anyway, the event will be going ahead and Sam will be providing me with characters and the literature to run the event with the same rules, etc.
So there are a few things you need to know and agree to before you come to the event.
1) The event will be April of your characters downtime. Which means you will not gain an additional point of vitality.
2) Normally, your character would not die during downtime, however this is a LIVE ROLEPLAY game, so if you decide to come and play on the event, you are agreeing that if your character dies, then it dies!
3) I would like everyone to crew at least one mission during the weekend.
I will be posting an event application form up when I get back (next week).
The form will include a section for your 5 months of downtime.
As well as a section for you to list all of your feats (both Temp & Permenant).
Other things:
I have budgetted the event based on £50.00 per person and approximately 20 people (I'll probably get more, but I have to base things on a worse case scenario). However, the gate at the last event... died, so I have allocated over a quarter of the budget on 3 gates & DHD's, (1 main gate and 2 mission ones).
The site has a minimum cost, which then eats up another 2 fifth's of the budget. That combined with costs for some Jaffa costume and Staff weapons (which will not be usable as melee weapons!) and thats a most if not all of my budget gone, let alone other props!
The reason I'm putting this up here is because I want people to know from the outset where the money has been spent.
There have been suggestions about Costume & Prop's, please keep them coming especially if you want to make them! If you do want to make things let me know how much it will cost and depending on the budget, etc. I'll let you know if I can afford it (Please note: that if it comes out of the event budget, then it will belong to the StargateLRP for use on future events).
