I know in the past that some people have Ambi'd G36's with the stocks folded.
But It's not too clear in the rules what the limits on what can be Ambi'd are.
Can we get some clarity on that please?
| Spontaneous Ambidexterity wrote: | For a scene (fight, working on two computers, etc), a character may perform a task with both hands or two weapons,
one in each hand. This allows the person to call “2 by 1” when shooting pistols indicating doing 2 bullets worth of
doing 1 damage. Also, Strike/Choke/Throw Unarmed Combat moves can be done with both hands at once. |
Can I use ambi'd SMGs ("Two by Three") or Ambi'd sawn off shotguns ("2 by Quad Knockdown")?
Is the G36 Ambi still an option? ("Two by Two Through")

Oh yes that'd be really helpful but please can we have it in vaguely understandable non-gun language too as I have no idea what Rob's talking about.
SMG? What? |

SMG = Sub-Machine Gun. Such as those carried by Jess Parker & Izy Watts (MP5s), Allan Freeman (Mini Uzis - as loaned to Sophie).
Basically a small(ish) rapid firing gun that doesn't pack the punch of a larger weapon like an assault rifle (like the AK-47 you might see a russian carrying) _________________ My Livejournal | My myspace | My Photobucket |

Personally, I'd be considering the feasibility of using the items in question one handed with any form of success, and a lack of subsequent personal injury should you try.
Sure, go ahead and fire two sawn offs at once, so long as you're happy to have a matched pair of broken arms/wrists
I'd be suggesting it limited to items designed for single handed use. _________________ Lt Jacqueline North, RN (now very un-retired and slightly less than happy about it...)

My Classic army g36 is pretty much on the money weight wise versus the real thing. fold the stock and hold it one handed its doable but your accuracy would be utterly appaling! _________________ -------------

Hence the ambi skill...
Anyone without ambi would probably have very poor accuracy if they tried to dual wield, but someone who is trained/skilled in doing it would know the compensations needed in order to make the shots count.
Thats just my take on it ofc, but I think that the skill wouldn't be there if there were so many restrictions in place to make it not worth having. _________________ Chief Technician Jessica Parker

I was more leaning on accuracy being appaling because its just to damned heavy do deal with one handed. Ambidex should be kept in the realm of pistols and smgs. Assault rifles and carbines just don't work imho. Unless perhaps you had bodybuilder..... _________________ -------------

| Ambidex allows you to do multiple similar tasks with both hands at once. It doesn't give you the ability to do things that would need 2 hands with only one hand. Marcs comments are how I'd see it working too. Something to clarify in the next rules revision. |

Yeah I'm with Marc here and would say pistol and SMG are fine, assault rifles etc are a no. HOwever I wouldn't rule out a feat to allow assault rifles to be used one handed which could then be combined with ambidex to allow it.
