Nominations are now officially open Monday (16/2/09) and will close on Wednesday (4/3/09) morning at 9:00am. Anyone who wishes to stand may write/e-mail me with the contact telephone number for themselves and their nominees and I will contact them to confirm the details.
If anyone standing wants to send me any supporting documentation then I will open up a closed thread for each candidate under the position and post it on the forum for everyone to read. Once nominations are closed I will open those forums for the membership to ask any questions (I ask that you save your questions and only use the forum to ask nominees questions related to the position they have applied for. As the way they answer may help you and others in the decision process).
There will be a small (and I mean small..!) Q&A session at the AGM on Sunday 29th March followed by the vote.
Any member who cannot make the AGM can send me their votes (once again I will call you to confirm them & if I cannot confirm them then they will not count) no earlier than Wednesday 18th March, but no later than Wednesday 25th March at 9:00 am. Postal votes will be added to the end of the votes at the AGM.

Cheers

|
|
Hi All,
The nominations have now closed and the following people are standing for each position.
President
Tonya Perry
| Quote: | In regard to relevant experience, I have previously held the post of North Bucks Motorcycle Action Group rep for a period of just over three years. Prior to that I was the social secretary. I was responsible for liasing with police and MPs, booking and organising social events and sites (including a full blown rally) and keeping our members active. Since then I have taken a law course at College and am fairly up to date with current legislation.
I have also been involved in organising international online gamer meets, booking the sites and liasing with site owners.
As for props, not only have I been heavily involved with the propmaking for the upcoming event, but I am known for my ability to 'prop-on-a-budget'. I have experience in warehouse storage and inventories, and I already have ideas for keeping the current props in good shape should I get voted in.
Think thats it |
Treasurer
James Wood
Secretary
Deborah Collington (Deb’s)
| Quote: | | In my current real life role I am PA to two highly demanding managers in a very busy team. My duties including arranging and taking minutes for meetings, inter department liaison, and often have to deal with many confidential and sensitive issues. I have to deal with a variety of people and remain tactful and calm at all times. Often I am called to prepare agendas and distribute reports and documentation both internally, and externally. As to the hobby and society, well I have been a larper for just over 20 years in a variety of systems, so fully understand the challenges faced by members (as well as the challenges the society is faced by the members!) and can be trusted to deal with any tricky issues with tact and confidentially. |
Plot Co-ordinator
John David (JD)
System Referees (x3)
Dave Little
| Quote: | Most people know me (whether that’s a good or bad thing I’m not sure). But here is a little about my LRP history and what I’ve done for Stargate.
I’ve ran and have been a referee for quite a few systems, including Stargate, Legion of dreams, Fools and Heroes and D.A.S.H. (Dark And Sinister Happenings) over many years (I’m not saying how many, but a lot!!!). I’m extremely good at thinking on my feet, while giving a balanced and fair judgement when required. So have I have LOT’s of experience at refereeing over character changing decisions. This means I’m not adversed to saying ‘NO’ when it needs to be said.
As for Stargate… I’ve been to EVERY Stargate event since they started (as player, crew or organiser) and intend to continue.
When Sam didn’t want to run another event, I took up the mantle and ran events to maintain the system. Last year I handed the successful system back to the player base and it has become the society it is now. For the last 12 months I’ve been the society President, ensuring that events did happen. I got an article published in ‘SciFi Now’ magazine advertising the society. I organised a stand at the LRP fair in Bristol to promote the society (unfortunately the fair was cancelled due to the snow, but the stand was there and it is when it is rescheduled).
I did say last year that I would only be President for 1 year and that I would be standing for referee this year and that is what I have done. |
System Referees (x3)
James Stacey
System Referees (x3)
Richard Croyden
I’ll create a thread for each of the candidates so if you have any relevant questions you can ask them. Also if any of the candidates wish to add any information that may sway your vote, they may..! If they post anything or send me it, I'll also add it to this thread.
Please make sure that any question is not a personal attack, trying to get the candidate to make a decision without all of the facts, etc, etc..! In other words don’t take the p!ss..!
It should be noted that although these candidates are not being apposed they may not get the position they are standing for as they must have a majority vote. The vote will be a simple for, against or abstain.
Cheers

|

Hi All,
I could not post this earlier as I had not had confirmation that Leon would do it, but now he has.
Looking at the list of players & crew at the next event I don’t really think this will matter but…
Any member who cannot make the AGM (Sunday 29th March) can send Leon Smith (via a PM on this board) their votes (Leon will call you to confirm them & if I cannot confirm them then they will not count) no earlier than Wednesday 18th March, but no later than Wednesday 25th March at 9:00 am.
Postal votes will be added to the end of the votes at the AGM.
Cheers
Dave.
